Ontario is set to introduce new pay transparency requirements for employers, aligning with a nationwide trend of enhanced protections for workers.
The proposed rules, part of the Working for Workers Four Act, include disclosing the use of artificial intelligence in hiring and listing salary ranges in public job postings. According to the province, just over a third (37%) of job postings in 2022 included salary information.
In a recent survey, https://ow.ly/qxXh50QlzJA , Canadians overwhelmingly expressed support for legal requirements for salary ranges in job postings, reports CTV News.
Across Canada, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, and British Columbia have also established salary-disclosure requirements.
